Acta Stomatol Croat. 2008;42(4):310.
Dear readers!
At the end of this calendar year, it is with great satisfaction that I can inform you that we have published four issues of the 42nd Volume on time, as was foreseen at the beginning. The year has been scientifically fruitful as confirmed by abstracts from three professional society congresses of the Croatian Medical Association. During 2008, the number of readers of Acta Stomatologica Croatica (Online) has constantly risen and surpassed 7000 readers per month. The number of printed issues has increased as well. Acta Stomatologica Croatica has become part of the EBSCO database, due to which daily reading of the online magazine by our American colleagues has grown to over 30%.
At the recently ended 4th International Congress of the Croatian Dental Society, Croatian Medical Association, four of the invited speakers were from the International Committee of Acta Stomatologica Croatica Editorial Board, whose names are cited in alphabetical order: Sharon Brooks, Zvonimir Curilović, Tim Hodgson and Tore Solheim.
In the issue you are presently flipping, I am pleased to present six interesting papers that were rated positively by reviewers due to their attractiveness and quality. We have published them in the first part of the magazine. The second part of the issue has 127 abstracts from the previously mentioned Congress of the Croatian Dental Society and the Croatian Society of Oral Medicine and Pathology, Croatian Medical Association. The index citing papers, authors as well as the content index for the entire 42nd volume is listed at the end, as well as the list of all the reviewers who participated in the realization of the published papers, but also the papers which, unfortunately, did not get a positive review.
At the end I am taking this opportunity to wish you all the best for the upcoming holidays and a scientifically fruitful 2009.
